This resource is a fully differentiated lesson aimed at teaching the new AQA GCSE Physics and Trilogy Physics specification, and links to Internal Energy and Energy Transfers.

This lesson has 5 learning objectives that are structured in the IDEAL format:

*Identify how you can find the specific heat capacity for a material.

*Describe a practical that you can do to test the specific heat capacity of a metal.

*Explain how the energy required to heat a material changes with specific heat capacity.

*Apply your understanding of efficiency to calculate how efficient your practical is.

*Link your understanding of metallic structures to explain why metals tend to have lower specific heat capacities than none metals.

This lesson is designed with a challenge objective and challenge questions throughout to stretch your most able students, whilst supporting your LA students.
