William Shakespeare’s enduring classic, ‘The Tempest’ (believed to be his final play), tells the story of a betrayed and banished ruler being blessed with the power to enact his revenge. This play continues to be performed worldwide and has seen many different adaptions to film and theatre.

The lesson works as an introduction to Shakespeare’s Tempest. Through a series of structured writing tasks, it unfolds the life and work of the author, the main themes of the play and the characterization of key constructs. All slides are beautifully illustrated and fully engaging for the students. I have used this particular resource to lead my teaching in class, as a distance learning material/homework and even as a tool of revision – all have worked well for the students. This is a complete KS4 resource, and with slight modifications can also be employed for KS3. Enjoy!
