This is a 2 x A4 page text, with colourful illustrations and sub-titles, all about Victorian toys. Alongside this non-fiction text is a 20 – mark comprehension sheet. The reading text could be used as an independent reading activity, a whole class read or even used by pupils for research purposes. The comprehension questions are all based on the text and are of mixed difficulty, allowing all pupils to succeed, while stretching the higher ability readers. The comprehension question worksheet also contains 2 challenges for extension and differentiation purposes. I have also included a Questionnaire for pupils to do as homework. The task is to interview an older person to find out the differences between schooldays and childhood from now compared with the past.
