National Curriculum Year 5 Number – multiplication and division – Key Stage 2
This skill is specified as a statutory requirement in upper Key Stage 2 to develop students understanding of place value and its relationship with powers of 10 and develop efficient methods of calculation with larger numbers.

There are 2 formats of the Worksheets.

For the first, which is really the preparation stage, there is a place value grid for each question so pupils can see what is happening to the numbers as they are multiplied or divided.

The pupils then move onto the Worksheets with one sample place grid displayed to help the pupils if needed.

How many Worksheets in each Set ?
Almost unlimited At the click of a button all numbers are randomised, so the questions change every time.  This will allow you to create as many new worksheets you will need for practice throughout the year (classwork, homework, revision, fillers etc) or even give small groups of students in your class different sets of questions either at the same level or differentiated . There will certainly be enough to ensure fluency in this topic.

  • – A space separator – Canada, Australia, plus many European countries e.g. 23 334 290

  • – No separator – often used in scientific writings, page numbers, years & addresses e.g. 23334290
