This is my series of posters created to assist revision of J B Priestley’s An Inspector Calls.
In this money-saving bundle, you get a poster file for each of the following characters: Arthur Birling, Sybil Birling, Sheila, Eric, Gerald Croft, Inspector Goole, and Eva Smith.
Each file contains the character poster in both jpeg and PDF formats. The words in red are the character traits, which serve as the ‘point’ in a PEE/PEAS/PETER style response. The words in black are the evidence. Included in each file are traits-only versions of the posters, and quotes-only versions, so that you can use them for tasks where the students themselves have to fill in what’s missing. Similarly, you will also find a picture-only version if you wish to start the lesson with entirely independent work.
The complete poster can also be used as a task where the students have to expand on the given information and link to given themes in the play. I often did this as a walk-around group activity, with each character poster glued to a large blank sheet on separate tables. Students would move from character to character, adding their own explanations on the significance of the traits and quotes.
This is by far the best value if you want to have all of the characters in the series. At just £11, you are getting an extra two characters for less than the price you would pay for five of the individual posters.
