This comprehensive package (14 lessons) for the Zones of Regulation programme has been carefully designed to support children in understanding their emotions, recognising triggers, and developing effective self-regulation strategies. This pack contains, a 14 lesson bundle covering all the important categories of the Zones of Regulation with Lesson Plans and all Resources.

• Each child is encouraged to have their own Zones of Regulation folder, where they can keep all worksheets, visuals, and reflection activities. This helps children build ownership of their learning and provides a valuable reference they can return to over time.

• The lessons are designed to be flexible and can be split across multiple sessions to meet the needs of your pupils. However, it is strongly recommended that lessons are delivered in the order provided, as each session builds on the understanding developed in the previous one.

• For best delivery, it is advisable to use a room with an accessible whiteboard, allowing for clear modelling, shared discussion, and visual support throughout each lesson.

I have personally delivered this programme on numerous occasions in school settings, and the structure reflects both the original Zones framework and extended teaching in key areas where children often need more support. One example is the lesson “How Big Is the Problem?” — a particularly powerful session for children who struggle to understand the relationship between the size of a problem and the size of their reaction. This lesson has been intentionally expanded to provide clarity, discussion, and practical strategies.
