Hello and welcome to The Teaching Coach! The Teaching Coach is a platform to help support resourcing, staff and quality of provision. The aim is simple: to drive improvement in schools by working with staff to develop quality pastoral care and quality teaching and learning. Who Am I? An experienced English secondary teacher and Head of Year, with extensive understanding of the importance of quality pastoral care as well as the importance of quality teaching and learning. Why me? Throughout my career, I have coached and mentored staff in both pastoral and teaching and learning capacity. I have lead on large whole school initiatives to improve attainment, raising aspirations and remove barriers to learning. I have also consistently delivered professional development to whole staff on both small and large scales, internally and externally. I have led on various teams of up to 14 tutors as well as led on transition from Year 6 - 7, the transition into KS4 as well as the Options process. I have also completed both my NPQML and NPQSL as well as worked as part of Women Into Leadership and delivered professional development for Middle Leaders...all whilst doing the normal parts of my head of year role and not to mention...teaching!
