Hitting the curriculum statement of when and where the first civilisations appeared can be tricky, but this activity will help children understand these important facts. They will also understand what each civilisation had in common with each other whilst identifying that most of them existed at similar time periods.
A great mini-task includes creating their own civilisation and choosing which elements they think are important to the survivial of an early civilisation.
